Marylin Musgrave has been the target of my posts before, but this time she’s really outdone herself.

It appears that two weeks after the election where she lost by a glorious twelve percentage points, she is still refusing to concede the race and congratulate her opponent, Betsy Markey.  I’ve known for a while that this woman is shameless and just plain mean, but this is even surprising to me.

Marilyn now has the honor of making national news, as she was featured on the Rachel Maddow Show.

Furthermore, she has been listed on Newsweek’s The Dignity Index as a 78 out of 100.  Newsweek had this to say: “Despite losing her re-election bid by 12 points, Colorado GOP Rep. Marilyn Musgrave refuses to congratulate her opponent or even concede the race,”

This woman has been an enemy of my right to happiness and equality, and I am filled with much joy that the fair-minded people of Colorado’s 4th Congression District have spoken loudly and have boldly silenced Marilyn’s fearmongering and hatred.

“Stay classy Marilyn Musgrave.”

It is 2AM on October 30th and staying true to quantifying my life in terms of how close Election day is, it is 5 days away.  I have sacrificed my bank accounts and standard of living by not working when I could have been and I have let my my grades suffer by working on this campaign since August.  The thought that in 5 days it could all be a waste is a little frightening.   I just cashed out my 401k to make it through and I’m stressed to say the least.

I decided to get back into school after 6 years and my performance this semester has been less than stellar.  I hope I have time to pull it out of the gutter once the campaign is over.  I hope.

I do this because it is a cause greater than myself and my hope for the future overpowers my concerns for my present.  That is why I do this.

Well, I’ve finally found a few minutes to post my photo highlights from the final night of the DNC!  As most of you surely saw for yourself, his speech was amazing and the night was electric.

Tonight I will be attending the final night of the Democratic National Convention here in Denver at Invesco Field. I am so thrilled that I can barely contain myself. The thrill-o-meter just went through the roof when I found out that Al Gore will be speaking tonight as well. I have always wanted to see Al Gore speak and the duo of Gore and Obama in the same night is absolutely amazing!

Wherever you are, if you are in the United States please go out and volunteer. We can’t afford four more years of continued failed policies. I can’t afford four more years of this and I’m sure you can’t either. I need guaranteed health care, we all need guaranteed health care and it’s sad that it’s even a question. Please, get educated, get involved, and contribute your time. An hour or two a week helps, so please step up!

This past Thursday evening I attended the Grand Opening of Barack Obama‘s Campaign for Change Campaign Office here in Arapahoe County.  There were well over 200 people in attendance, around 250 I would guess.  The crowd was as diverse a crowd as I’ve ever seen, and there was electricity in the air.  I met most of the staff, officially changed my registration to Democrat, and signed up to volunteer my time.

Saturday I attended a Volunteer Leaders conference which also had several hundred people in attendance.  We spent a little over 5 hours together training and organizing neighborhood teams with our campaign staff Field Organizers.  We will be meeting regularly to conduct voter registration drives, as well as phone banking.  I will probably end up as the Canvassing Coordinator or the Phone Banking Coordinator.  I have experience with both, so we’ll see.

Am I the only one stunned by how little coverage the John McCain-lobbyists on the payroll story is getting?  Come on people!  This guy has been blabbing for years about how he will get rid of lobbyists influence in Washington and then has to spend a couple weeks firing a ton of staffers who work for lobbying firms that represent evil dictatorships, oil companies, etc. etc. etc.  The list is extensive and very disturbing.  Charles Black, David Crane, Mike Dennehy.  Oh, how I love Google…and the truth.
