Vista & Ex-Gays

Well, what can I say, I'm using Vista now.  It's gorgeous.  I'm not sure why it's getting so much of a bad rap.

Randomly I'm watching this YouTube clip of "ex-gay therapist" on the Jimmy Kimmel.  Wow, so pathetically disgusting.

Check it out:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOTYFXZb_rE

Makes me sick.

Looking Up

Well, things are looking up.  I'm posting for the first time on my new computer.  Only took 3 days to get it going…blah!

It's 12:30 AM and my first official day as Assistant Manager at our store.  We're a rapidly growing, small company so there is so much potential for me having gotten into management this quickly.  I'm excited, and I just I hope I do a great job!

I've recently signed up for Twitter, in addition to my blog.  It's random little posts throughout my day, very cool service.  I can post from my cell phone, an IM client, or on the Web.  You can also receive other people's twitters on any of the above.  Check out my Twitter page at: http://twitter.com/underdog83

Promotion

Well, I just got a promotion to management at my company!  Woohoo!  Nice pay raise, no more worries about direct commission, etc.  I'm very, very happy!  Woohoooo!!!

In other news, I've spent about $2,000 to build a new computer.  Doesn't work.  I've tried everything except the motherboard and the processor.  It appears at this point to be the motherboard.  SO annoying and depressing.  First system I've ever built, I was so worried about this happening.  Hope I can get it resolved tomorrow.

Pale Blue Dot

Wow, how small we truly are.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:PaleBlueDot.jpg

Earth seen from 4 billion miles away, photographed by Voyager 1 on June 6, 1990.

Of the "pale blue dot," astronomer Carl Sagan said, "That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every 'superstar,' every 'supreme leader,' every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there — on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam."

Climate Crisis

Ok, so, I watched An Inconvenient Truth tonight.  Wow.  I went into this very, very skeptical, and annoyed that I had to watch Al Gore.  I was not an Al Gore fan.  I now am and would most likely vote for him tomorrow if possible.

This movie wasn't political, but it definitely was powerful.  Please, PLEASE watch it.  I'm practically begging you.  Watch it.  It's informative and needed.  Just watch it.  Go out on a limb, even if you are not interested in the least bit, and watch it.

Checking In

Well, I'm busy with work these days.  Trying to get out of debt and repair my credit.  My boyfriend's student loans haven't come through like we expected, so we're kind of freaking out.  AGH!  I'm the only one working, he's taking classes(couple months away from his Masters degree) and doing a full time unpaid internship.  Bleh.  I pray he can get a loan figured out for us to survive on.

Well I just wanted to check in, I hope all of my neighbors on here are doing well!  You're all very fascinating individuals, gotta love diversity!

Well, I'm off to catch up on some of your lives and then gonna watch a little TV and maybe read before bed. Woohoo!

Oh, Greg sent me this amazing picture today.  Elephants are my favorite animals, they are simply amazing.  They have intense emotions and memories, their motherly instincts, etc.  Amazing.  Thought I'd share.

Freedom Writers!

I just watched it for the second time this week.  So great.  The Freedom Writers Diary, the book it's based on, has been my favorite book since High School.  Read the book.  Watch the movie.  You will be moved.

QotD: My Nervous Habit

Do you have a nervous habit?
Submitted by Herding Cats.

Yes I do, and I don't know anyone else with the same habit.  I play with parts of clothing where the fabric is bunched up into a tight little spot.  Like on jeans at the bottom of the leg, where the seam going down the leg meets the hem at the bottom and is folded over.  There's that little hard clump of fabric there, and I play with it until my fingers hurt.  That and the corner of my back pockets on my jeans, cause they too have the hard little piece of layered fabric.  Same with the top and bottom of belt loops on jeans.

It's totally bizarre, I have no idea how or when it started.  All I know is, my belt loops come undone often and it's quite annoying.  When I was a teenager a neighbor got me a worry stone, it worked, but I forget to carry it with me these days.

HELP ME!  🙂
